Homeowners praise groundbreaking purchase that ‘sucks up condensation in 55 SECONDS’
With temperatures falling but energy bills rising, Brits will find their homes much cooler.
But those who try not to turn the heat on may notice condensation starting to build up.
And in the long run, this can cause mold in the corners of your home, which is not very pleasant to live with.
But one person has discovered just the trick that “wicks up condensation in seconds” and won’t take up too much space in your home.
Hugh, known as ‘Hugh Essentials’ on TikTok, has filmed itself using the clever tool called dehumidifying bags and can be bought from Amazon for £16.99 for a double pack.
They work by simply placing the bags next to your window on the window seal and explained that it only took 55 seconds for the condensation to be sucked into the bag.

He says: “You can see it takes the moisture out of the air.
“These little dehumidifying bags are actually a game changer.”
Speaking to his followers, he continued: “I don’t know about you, but damp and moisture are such a problem at this time of year.
“These protect reasonably well against mold and moisture.”
Once the bag is ‘full’ they only need to be placed in the microwave for six minutes to ‘completely reset’ them.
Hugh adds: “Just look for the dot that’s spinning pink. I also bought a kit to use in the car.”
The Amazon website describes the dehumidifier bags as follows: “Our portable reusable dehumidifier is ideal for year-round use in cars, caravans or campers as it continuously absorbs excess moisture from the air.
“You can even use it indoors, or at work, close to a window. It doesn’t take up much space as it measures only H200 x W115 x D35 mm.”
Many people rushed to the comments section to share their thoughts, with one writing: “I love them. I have one in the car. Game changer.”
Others took to Amazon to praise the devices, with one writing: “These are perfect for keeping our car from fogging up in the cold weather.”
Another added: “Bought just in time when the weather turned, didn’t have to wipe the windscreen or rear window sooner to ride out.”
Cheap Condensation Hacks
1. Use salt or cat litter
– Place bowls of salt or silica-based cat litter in areas that are sensitive to moisture. These materials are excellent at absorbing moisture from the air.
2. DIY dehumidifier
– Create a simple dehumidifier using a plastic container with a lid. Make holes in the lid, fill the container with silica gel or activated carbon and place it in damp areas.
3. Ventilate while cooking and showering
– Open windows or use exhaust fans when cooking or showering to allow moisture to escape. Even a small difference can make a big difference.
4. Wipe Windows clean
– Wipe windows and other cold surfaces regularly with a dry cloth to remove condensation. This prevents moisture from accumulating and causing mold.
5. Use houseplants
– Certain houseplants, such as lilies and spider plants, can help absorb moisture from the air. They also improve indoor air quality.
6. Keep lids on jars
– Keep lids on pots and pans while cooking to reduce the amount of steam released into the air.
7. Dry clothes outside
– If possible, dry clothes outside or in a well-ventilated area, rather than using indoor drying racks.
8. Open curtains and blinds
– Open curtains and blinds during the day to allow sunlight to warm the windows and reduce condensation. Sunlight also helps reduce mold growth.
9. Use towels wisely
– Keep towels and other fabrics away from walls and windows to prevent them from absorbing moisture and becoming damp.
10. Seal cracks and holes
– Use inexpensive weather stripping or caulk to seal any cracks or holes around windows and doors. This helps keep cold air out and warm air in, reducing condensation.
