(Reuters) NEW DELHI: India on Wednesday welcomed the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Lebanon, which entered into force today.“We welcome the announced ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a press release. The press release further said: "We have always called for de-escalation, restraint and a return to the path of dialogue and diplomacy. We hope that these developments will lead to peace and stability in the wider region."The ceasefire between Israel and Lebanese Hezbollah aims to end a conflict that has displaced tens of thousands of people in Israel and hundreds of thousands in Lebanon.
