Akhilesh Yadav claims that BJP 'induced' Sambhal riots to deviate from EVM issue

NEW DELHI: Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Akhilesh Yadav has stepped up his attack on the ruling BJP. EVM problem and linked it to the recent Sambhal riotclaiming the clashes were ‘instigated’ to ‘distract’ people.
“The way they (BJP) won elections by putting pressure on officials and that is why they created this riot (in Sambhal) to distract people,” Akhilesh Yadav told news agency ANI.
He also lashed out at the CM Yogi Adityanath-led UP government, which has released photos of rioters involved in the clashes.
“If the government releases photos, they should publish the photos of the BJP supporters who were there during the investigation and raised slogans… The BJP is not running on the basis of Samvidhaan but on ‘Man Vidhaan’,” the SP chief said .
He claimed that if EVMs conducted forensic investigations, it would be found that “only one person cast many votes”.
Akhilesh Yadav said in the “Lucknow-Delhi conflict – the brotherhood of Uttar Pradesh is being destroyed”.
‘They use machines to get votes forensic investigation of EVMs If such a survey is done, you will come to know that only one person cast many votes… This conflict is between Lucknow and Delhi. Those who are in Lucknow want to go to Delhi and in the Lucknow-Delhi conflict, the brotherhood of Uttar Pradesh is being destroyed,” he added.
Sunday’s clashes between protesters opposing the investigation Shahi Jama Masjid and police left three people dead and several others, including security personnel and officials, injured. A fourth injured person succumbed to his injuries on Monday.
Tension has been rising in the area since November 19, when the Jama Masjid was first investigated on a court order following a petition claiming that a Harihar temple had once stood on the site.
