CNET’s Best Laptops of 2024

2024 is coming to a close, which means it’s a good time to give you a rundown of the best laptops of 2024, or at least some of them. Anyway, here we go in no particular order, starting with the M three Macbook Air. Although we always liked the Macbook Air for its portability. The addition of Apple’s M-series chips means you get great performance in terms of battery life too. The M three Air will meet the needs of many people. And now that it’s available in 13- and 15-inch sizes, you no longer have to upgrade to a more expensive Macbook Pro to get a bigger screen, and it still has a slim fanless chassis. The Air is the least expensive Macbook, but still starts at $1000 with an M3 chip inside. But you can still get the M Two Air for 899 and both come with 16 gigabytes of memory in base configurations. Next up is a real Windows rival in the sky, the Microsoft Surface Laptop Seven, which also starts at $1000. We tested several copilot PCS. This year, but the Surface was the best of the bunch and a great choice for anyone looking for a sleek, slim Windows laptop with solid processing performance that rivals the M three air and even better battery life if you’re interested in better graphics performance for gaming or content creation, but still want something small. The Republic of Gamers Zephyrs G 14 is on our list. It has a smart design with some light flashes and an excellent 14-inch OLED screen. It also has a surprisingly full set of ports for its size and includes factory calibration display profiles for SR GB and P three. However, considering the higher insects, it starts around $1600. And finally, at the other end of the computing spectrum is the Lenovo Duet 11, a Chromo S tablet that’s good for entertainment and productivity and cheap starting at $350. And That price includes a very nice keyboard cover, even if it is not super powerful. It’s nice as a small secondary device or for people who just need a basic computer for typical daily online tasks like shopping or chatting with friends and family. That’s just a handful of the best laptops we tested this year, and you should head over to cnet.com to see all of our best laptop lists. I probably left your favorite off the list. So tell me all about your picks in the comments and also tell me if there’s anything you’re looking forward to in 2025. Thanks for watching and you’ll see me when you see me.
