What is the Golden Ratio?
The Golden Ratio is a system developed by the ancient Greeks to measure physical perfection.
The golden ratio is the ratio of a line segment cut into multiple pieces of different lengths.
The golden ratio divides each line at 1.618, known as Phi, or the Greek letter ϕ.
It creates a proportion that is proportional on both sides of the dividing line, and is believed to provide the most aesthetically pleasing result, whether that be a building design or the proportions of a person’s hands and feet.
The golden ratio can be applied to fingernails by measuring the sections of an index finger and observing that each section is approximately 1.618 times longer than the previous one.
