Srinagar records the coldest night of the season at minus 2.1 degrees Celsius
Night temperatures fell further in Kashmir on Friday as Srinagar recorded the coldest night of the season so far at minus 1.2 degrees Celsius.
SRINAGAR: Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, and many other parts of Kashmir recorded the coldest night of the season so far, with sub-zero night temperatures.
According to officials, the night temperature in Srinagar settled at minus 2.1 degrees Celsius – 1.5 degrees lower than the previous night’s minus 0.6 degrees Celsius – which was the lowest of the season so far.
However, Shopian was the coldest place in Kashmir as the mercury plummeted to minus 5.5 degrees Celsius.
The Met department said the weather is likely to remain generally dry until Friday evening, after which there is a possibility of light rain or snow at isolated places in the higher elevations until December 1.
