Suspected ‘murderer’s chilling call to his mother’ before locals heard blood-curdling scream – and couple found dead in suspected murder-suicide in their city unit
A man found dead next to a woman in a Melbourne beachside suburb reportedly told his mother he planned to kill his estranged wife.
The 41-year-old woman from Mordialloc was found dead next to a 38-year-old man from St Kilda, who is suspected of carrying out the fatal attack.
Witnesses told reporters at the scene that they approached the feuding couple around 11 a.m. Thursday in an attempt to “ease the tension.”
It remains unclear how the pair died, with Detective Inspector Scott Dwyer revealing little more than confirming the deceased knew each other.
On Thursday, Sherele Moody, who runs a website that tracks the number of women murdered across Australia, claimed she had been contacted by someone who confirmed the horrific allegations.
‘The man committed suicide. “I confirmed they were separated and he contacted his mother and told her he planned to kill the woman,” she told her social media followers.
“They were divorced not so long ago.”
Daily Mail Australia has contacted Ms Moody and Victoria Police to clarify the statement.
The discovery came after one of the victim’s colleagues called triple zero.
