Uber One subscription launches in India with free Zomato Gold
Uber One subscription has been launched in India. The loyalty program targets frequent users of the ride-hailing platform by offering benefits such as Uber One credits as cashback, top-rated drivers for eligible rides, priority support for members, and a free subscription to a food delivery platform. Notably, the Uber One plan has been available in the US and Canada for a while now, with India becoming the latest country to introduce it.

The price of an Uber One plan in India starts at Rs. 149 per month. However, currently it is offering a limited-time first month discount of up to 80 percent, bringing the price down to just Rs. 29.80.

Users can choose from monthly, quarterly and annual subscriptions. However, the Uber app as of now only shows the monthly and annual plans, with the latter costing Rs. 1,499 per year. The company says users can save up to 16 percent each year by using a 12-month subscription instead of a monthly subscription.

According to the ride-hailing platform, Uber One subscribers can earn 10 percent Uber One credit on Uber Go, Go Sedan, Premier, XL, Reserve, Black, Auto, Moto and Package bookings. Shuttle users can earn as much as 35 percent in credits, while Intercity and Rentals earn them 1 percent Uber One credits. These can be redeemed for all rides booked through the app.
But there are a few caveats. The credits are limited to Rs. 150 per ride and also up to 150 rides for the monthly and quarterly plans. The limit extends to 600 rides for annual subscribers. Uber says the credit expires 60 days after the issue date and does not apply to the portion of the payment made with Uber One credits. Furthermore, users must have an active Uber One subscription to use their accumulated credits.
Other benefits include top-rated drivers on certain rides, based on their availability, and 24-hour support for members.
Additionally, the ride-hailing app bundles a free three-month subscription to Zomato Gold for Uber One subscribers. It will be sent via a voucher code to the user’s email three working days after purchasing the subscription.
