Stop and question the election process, says BJP to Rahul, Priyanka | India News – Times of India
Such a stand will underline their confidence in the issues raised by them, BJP spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia told reporters, adding that otherwise their allegations will be nothing but empty words.
Congress should also move the courts on this issue, he said, while emphasizing that the Supreme Court has endorsed the transparency of the election process and the integrity of EVMs many times.
Congress Chief Ministers Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra should resign as they were elected through the same election process that the opposition party is questioning, Bhatia said. It was ironic that Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge questioned the EVMs on a day when Priyanka took oath as a Lok Sabha MP, he added.
The Congress will soon be confined to the pages of history books, the BJP spokesperson said.
Speaking about the incidents against Hindu minorities in Bangladesh, Bhatia noted the position of the Indian government and expressed confidence that India’s strong voice cannot be ignored. As the world’s largest democracy, it is India’s duty to raise its voice when minorities anywhere face intimidation, he asserted.
He also accused the Samajwadi Party neta and former UP CM Akhilesh Yadav of acting as a shield for rioters and alleged that the party’s members, including MPs, were involved in instigating violence rather than committed to the restoration of peace. He targeted the SP, claiming that riots broke out regularly when it ruled the state and that the opposition party had no confidence in the police.
BJP’s response came after Yadav accused BJP of orchestrating violence in Sambhal.
