‘Stands as a crucial line of defence’: PM Modi applauds BSF on Raising Day | India News – Times of India


NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday praised the Border Security Force (BSF). Day of revivalrecognizing its role “as a crucial line of defense, embodying courage, dedication and exceptional service.”
“Warm wishes to the Border Security Force on their day of education! The BSF acts as a crucial line of defense and embodies courage, dedication and exceptional service. Their vigilance and courage contribute to the safety and security of our nation,” PM Modi wrote on X.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah extended his greetings in a separate post on The soldiers of BSF India secured Bharat’s honor and ambitions with fierce determination. , without thinking twice about giving their lives for it.”
“Their courage and sacrifices are the undying source of inspiration that has produced generations of patriots to ensure that our nation continues to prosper forever. My solemn tribute to the brave hearts who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty,” he added.

BSF, the world’s largest border security force with around 2.65 lakh personnel, celebrates its Raising Day on December 1 every year.
The Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, also conveyed his wishes to the BSF India personnel and their families.
“On BSF Raising Day, I extend my greetings to the personnel of BSF India and their families. Guided by the motto “jiivn pryNtt krtvy”, the BSF protects the sovereignty and security of our nation with unparalleled courage and dedication. Kudos to their sacrifice and unwavering dedication,” LG Manoj Sinha said in a post on X.
The BSF is unique as the country’s only armed force with clearly defined responsibilities in both war and peacetime, and is tasked with securing the borders between India and Pakistan and India and Bangladesh.
Currently, the BSF operates with an authorized strength of over 2,65,000 men across 192 battalions, guarding 6,386.36 kilometers of the Indian border with Pakistan and Bangladesh.
