General Hospital Star Denise Alexander Dead at 85: Soap Legend also acted on days of our lives

General Hospital -star Denise Alexander, who won the hearts of Soap -Opera -Fans as Dr. Lesley Webber, died at the age of 85.
She played full -time in General Hospital from 1973 to 1984 and then returned from 1996 to 2009 and made sporadic guest performances in 2021.
Early in her career, when she went to University at UCLA, she got her big break on TV with Another legendary soap – days of our lives.
Between Stints in General Hospital she also enjoyed a three -year run on another world like the character Denise McKinnon from 1986 to 1989.
Although the news only broke her death this Friday, the actress born in New York City died on March 5 and no cause was raised through the public, via Variety.
Showrunner of the General Hospital Frank Valenti made her death public this week and placed a glowing witness that had the ‘barriers’ that she ‘broke’.

Denise Alexander was born in New York in 1939 and grew up on Long Island with a cop for a father and started acting when she was just a child.
By 1949 she played Perry Como on Perry Como’s Chesterfield Supper Club and at the age of 13 she performed on Broadway in a revival of the pioneering 1930s Lillian Hellman Play the Children’s Hour.
In 1956 she made her film debut as a teenager in the dramamis act on the street in the midst of a cast with John Cassavetes and Sal Mineo.
During her youth career she often appeared on the radio, on the melody of what her father estimated as a total of 2500 jobs.
“You would leave school and go from one show to another,” she explained to We Love Soaps TV, according to TV Insider.

She played the memorable role of Susan Hunter, who murder her husband David (Clive Clerk) through shot murder after he causes a tragic accident that kills their young son.
In 1973, seduced by a juicy contract, Denise shifted to the General Hospital for the role of Dr. Lesley Webber to play, initially Williams.
Lesley arrives in Port Charles to work in the hospital, still traumatized by the cradle death of her baby and the resulting suicide of her husband.
As she deals with her grief, she becomes a respected member of the hospital team and saves a romance with colleague doctor Rick Webber (Michael Gregory, then Chris Robinson), whom she eventually marries.
