Apple will 'publish and invest' $ 500b in America in America and will hire 20,000 new employees in research and development roles for the next four years as part of its 'greatest expenditure ever', the company revealed today.
The Tech giant of Silicon Valley promised to build on Apple's long history of investments in American innovation and advanced highly skilled production 'after President Donald Trump forced companies to shift their production home.
Apple said that the investment would help “to support a wide range of initiatives that focus on artificial intelligence, silicon technology and development of skills for students and employees throughout the country.”
“We are Bullish about the future of American innovation, and we are proud to build on our long -standing American investments with this $ 500 billion commitment to the future of our country,” said Apple CEO Tim Cook.
'From double our advanced production fund to the construction of advanced technology in Texas, we are delighted to extend our support for American production.
“And we continue to work with people and companies in this country to help write an extremely new chapter in the history of American innovation.”
The plans include a new factory that must be built in Texas, away from the headquarters of the Silicon Valley company in California. Hundreds of companies have made the move in recent years.
The dedication of Apple is to record the work of the company with thousands of suppliers in all 50 states, as well as direct employment of staff, Apple Intelligence Infrastructure and data centers, business facilities and Apple TV+ Productions in 20 states.
The company refused to say how much of the figure it was planning to spend with its existing American supply base. Apple says that it 'supports' more than 2.9 million jobs nationally through direct employment.
