NBC News -star Lester Holt has lost his job by organizing the flagship Nightly News Show of the Peacock Network.
The experienced anchor, 65, only works on Dateline, which he has organized since 2011, from the end of the summer.
NBC still has to announce a replacement for Holt and has not shared reason before his departure for a less prestigious show.
He started hosting Nightly News in June 2015 and told employees at his show that his time at Nightly News had been a 'great ride'.
News about Holt's exit from nocturnal news came days after Sister Station MSNBC hosted the reid out show.
