A woman has revealed how she spent hundreds of kilos on a lifelike baby doll – in an attempt to avoid empty nest syndrome when her son left the house.
Marcela Iglesias, which originally comes from Buenos Aires, in Argentina, but lives in Los AngelesLabels itself as ‘human Barbie’ and has spent thousands on plastic surgery.
And the extensive editions were not stopped there, with Marcela £ 350 spotting on a lifelike reborn baby doll after her 23-year-old son grew up.
The influencer, who has a million followers, treats the doll – called Sofia – like a member of the family, who pretends to be feeding the doll and plans to make it on a pram.
Marcela, 47, modeled the expensive toys on photos of himself like a baby.
But she has admitted that her husband Steve, 57, is ‘weird’ through the new addition.
The mother said that while her son Rodrigo still lives at home, she needed something that she could ‘cherish’ again.
“I have always felt a strong mother instinct, even after my own children grew up,” she said.

‘I started thinking about getting a reborn doll when I started to feel a feeling of emptiness at home.
“I wanted something to feed again, without the demands of a real baby.”
Marcela said that in the beginning her husband was ‘a bit confused and felt a bit weird’.
She used photos of herself as a baby to design the doll, which she has called Sofia.
Her days now include changing the pop outfits and pretending to feed her, and she plans to take Sofia on walks in a pram in the coming weeks.

Marcela said that her husband was a bit confused in the beginning and felt a bit strange ‘
“I saw it as a bit of an investment in my emotional well -being,” said Marcela.
‘Opening the box felt like I met someone I already loved.
‘I held her for a long time and just take the detail and weight.
“It was strange calming and I was actually pretty emotional.
“It’s not exactly like getting a real baby – but the movements, the care and attention feel very real and reassuring.”
She added that for many people reborn dolls are not only toys, but also ’emotional companions’.
