‘People’s vote of confidence in Mahayuti ahead of state assembly elections’: CM Eknath Shinde | India News – Times of India

MUMBAI: “Our victory today, which even got us votes from the opposition party legislators, is just the beginning. We are now confident that the people of Maharashtra will take this victory to its logical conclusion in the upcoming Assembly elections by Mahayuti Government “back to power” he said Prime Minister Eknath Shinde during a press conference shortly after the state legislature’s monsoon season ended today.
Shinde said that the government has taken several innovative and effective decisions in the last two years for the development and welfare of every section of the society, including farmers, women, youth and senior citizens. “I congratulate all my colleagues, especially DCM Fadnavis and DCM Pawar, and all legislators including those from outside parties who voted for our candidates in today’s municipal elections, helping us win all 9 seats.” According to Shinde, the municipal elections have shown the true face of the people Mahavikas Aghadi.
“After the recent Lok Sabha elections, stories were spread against us. Today’s victory has taken the air out of the opposition’s balloon and is just a harbinger of the coming parliamentary elections. People will vote for a progressive government, especially in favour of our plans like Ladki-Bahin“Annapurna, waiver of power bills, three gas cylinders and apprenticeship for 10 lakh youth,” said Shinde.
Shinde said it is now visible that people are happy with our performance, especially our people-oriented decisions which are memorable because they have never been taken before. “Now we feel we were right when we repelled the attempt to keep Balasaheb’s ideology out of power two years ago by joining hands with the BJP,” he added, recalling the large-scale desertion of Sena legislators under him.
“Our hard work over the past two years has virtually trumped the opposition, with legislators from outside parties also supporting our candidates in the local elections today,” he said, calling it a big surprise and a boost for his government and the ruling parties. “People don’t want a government run from home or Facebook live. People will bring Mahayuti candidates back to the assembly in the coming elections,” he added.
To a question about Palghar, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis quipped, “We are now marching towards Varsha and not Palghar.” Addressing the media along with the Chief Minister, Fadnavis said he was proud and happy that all the nine candidates from Mahayuti had won their elections as we had secured all the votes not only of our legislators but also of the opposition members.
“We are happy that all our candidates, who are working hard at the grassroots, have won the elections and have also gained the confidence of a larger section of legislators. We are confident that we will come to power again in the upcoming state assembly elections under the leadership of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi“, said Fadnavis, pointing out that it was Sadabhau Khot of Mahayuti who secured opposition votes and thus won the municipal elections.
