An 18-year-old student died after she was involved in a crash while driving on an e-bike on a university campus.
Emergency services were called to the University of Nottingham after the young woman suffered serious injury in the early hours this morning.
The police said she had driven on an electric bicycle on the campus of the University Park when she was involved in a traffic incident.
The victim, which has not yet been called, was taken to the hospital, but despite the efforts of medical staff, she was declared dead shortly later.

Her parents have been informed and a police investigation has started.
A spokesperson for the University of Nottingham said: 'It is with great sadness that we confirm the death of one of our students at the Campus of University Park in the early hours of Tuesday morning in a traffic incident.
'This is a deeply disturbing time, and all our thoughts are with friends, family and loved ones. We will continue to support our community while we process the weight of this loss. '
Detective sergeant Paul Clark, by the Nottinghamshire police, said: “This is a tragic incident that I know will come a shock for anyone who knew the victim and loved.
'Officers will stay on site for a large part of the day while we work to understand the order of events that have led to the tragic and early death of this young woman.
“As that work continues, our thoughts with her family are in this very difficult time.”
