Four firefighters were injured after the roof of a unit block collapsed into a 'suspicious' fire in West Sydney.
Crews hurried to the block on Halinda Street, Whalan, around 9.50 pm on Tuesday after receiving reports of a fire that got out of hand.
Residents were evacuated when fire staff worked to control the fire, which completely destroyed the nine units and made sure that the roof was in it.
Four firefighters suffered minor injuries, but no residents were injured.
De Blaze has summoned an investigation by the police with officers who are expected to return to the stage on Wednesday morning.
“Officers of the MT Druitt Police Area Command have set up a crime scene and started investigating the incident,” said a spokesperson for the NSW police.
“The fire is treated as suspicious.”
