In her videoTikTok user Jamie (@heavy traveler) showed her followers how she gets ready for bed every night.

The US-based poster previously revealed that problems with her disability benefits forced her to leave her flat.

With nowhere to turn, she was forced to live in her car full-time.

She parks her car in different places every night to stay safe and avoid fines.

These areas include residential areas, campgrounds, and truck stops.

While adapting to the change in lifestyle brought on by warmer weather, winter has brought harsh living conditions for Jamie.

She revealed that the temperature had dropped to about minus seven degrees Celsius.

Preparing to go to sleep, she first turned on her car’s heater for “15 to 20 minutes.”

She also attached privacy curtains to her windows and a foil cover to her windshield.

Jamie used a sleeping bag designed to withstand low temperatures to create her backseat bed.

However, it was her pillow hack that left her feeling “all warm and toasty.”

She revealed that she makes good use of her car’s heater while she drives.

“I always keep my pillow right here in the front with me while I’m warming up my car so it gets nice and warm because I hate sleeping on an ice cold pillow,” Jamie told her audience.

When her pillow was warm enough, she placed it on the bed in the backseat.

The TikToker pointed out how well the trick worked to keep her warm all night long.

Rules for living in a car

CAR LIVING is on the rise as people struggle with the cost of living, and others seek a nomadic existence.

Here’s everything we know about the rules of driving in Britain.

In Britain you can legally live in your car, as long as you follow a few rules.

The only requirement is that your car has passed its MOT and is fully street legal.

If parked legally, there are no rules against sleeping or living in a car.

The trend of living in a car or van has taken off in the United States, where some are forced to leave a rental property after the landlord increases the rent.

Others have chosen to live in their vehicles in their pursuit of a free, nomadic lifestyle that allows them to travel across the country.

There are certain circumstances where it is not legal to sleep in a car in the UK.

Firstly, you must be in a safe parking lot and not violate any parking restrictions.

Certain car parks, car parks, national parks and forests have restrictions on overnight parking, meaning you cannot sleep in a vehicle there.

If the restrictions are violated, you could be fined or even have your vehicle towed.

Secondly, you cannot be over the legal drink driving limit or under the influence of drugs if you plan to sleep in your car.

If you are over the limit, you can be charged with being intoxicated while operating a motor vehicle in a public place, even if you are not driving.

The ban on sleeping in the car when you are drunk falls under the Road Traffic Act 1988.

The rule says you can be found guilty of an offense if you are in charge of a vehicle on a road or in a public place “after drinking so much alcohol that its proportion in his breath, blood or urine exceeds the prescribed limit .”

“Even though it will be freezing, I will be super cozy and comfortable. It’s a process, but it’s worth it,” she said.

TikTok users shared their thoughts on the setup in the comments section.

“I wish you the best, you will have a warm apartment soon, don’t worry, you are doing great,” one viewer wrote.

“I hope everything gets better for you, stay safe,” said another follower.

“I really hope you are doing well and safe, that your energy is shining despite everything, lots of love, darling,” said a third person.
