'Suspects involved in motivating youth to commit terror attacks': NIA conducts raids at 19 locations in five states
NEW DELHI: The NIA conducted searches at 19 locations across five states, probing radicalization activities linked to Pakistan-based banned terrorist group Jaish-e-Mohammed. Early morning operations targeted suspected hideouts in Jammu and Kashmir, Assam, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat.
The searches were initiated based on information obtained from interrogating the arrested suspect and analyzing evidence against persons whose premises were investigated in October.

Earlier, the NIA indicated that the suspects were involved in radicalizing JeM workers and spreading terrorist propaganda while recruiting youth into the JeM-influenced Jamaat organisation. “These suspects were involved in motivating youths to commit violent terror attacks across India,” the NIA said.
This action follows previous operations carried out in five states two months ago that resulted in the arrest of Sheikh Sultan Salah Uddin Ayubi, also known as Ayubi.
The arrest took place after searches at 26 locations in Assam, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and Jammu and Kashmir. During the earlier operation, several suspects were arrested for questioning. The searches yielded important evidence, including documents, electronic equipment, pamphlets and magazines.
