‘Sonia-Soros, Adani-Modi’: BJP and Opposition MPs engage in poster battle outside Parliament; watch video | India News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: The Bharatiya Janata Party and the Opposition on Thursday pulled out all the stops for a poster fight outside Parliament, with the former interrogating Sonia Gandhi and George Soros and the latter pressing their demand for discussion on Charges against Gautam Adani problem.
BJP leader Giriraj Singh joined the protest Sonia Soros posters with the text “Je rishta kya kehlata hai (What is this relationship called)? Party president JP Nadda lashed out at Congress for disrupting proceedings in Rajya Sabha and said, “What is the relationship between Sonia Gandhi and George Soros? The country wants to know.”
“Not only Rahul Gandhi, but his mother and former Congress president Sonia Gandhi is also propagating George Soros’s anti-India agenda to destroy the Indian economy and destabilize the country,” BJP said in a post on X.

Meanwhile, the opposition agreed to ‘Desh nahi bikne denge’ after the ‘Adani-Modi ek hai’ protests and demanded a joint parliamentary committee on the charges against Adani.
“MPs from INDIA bloc are taking a strong stand against the Adani issue and protesting at the Parliament House complex. They demand a Joint Parliamentary Committee investigation into the matter, seeking transparency and accountability,” Congress said.
“The opposition is seeking a discussion on the Adani issue in the House of Representatives, but the Modi government is avoiding this to protect Adani. The ruling party is deliberately disrupting the functioning of parliament,” it added.

Opposition leaders, including Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi, have staged protests carrying sports bags, masks, T-shirts and jackets reading ‘Modi Adani ek hai’, alleging a link between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Gautam Adani.

The Opposition has also demanded Prime Minister Modi’s presence in the Parliament sessions.
The Congress party has intensified its criticism of both the Adani Group and the government following charges filed by the US Department of Justice. The indictment accuses Gautam Adani, chairman of the Adani Group, along with his cousin Sagar and another key executive, of orchestrating a scheme to pay $265 million in bribes to Indian officials.
These alleged bribes were intended to secure contracts to supply solar energy, which were expected to generate $2 billion in profits over 20 years. The Adani Group has strongly denied the allegations, calling them ‘baseless’.
