I’m a garbage man – Fosters and chocolates are not suitable for Christmas presents
WE all know that our bin collectors work hard to keep our streets clean and we often feel the urge to thank them with a gift at Christmas.
But a binman in Britain has revealed gifts he can’t stand.
Through social media, the garbage collector tries to answer everyone’s questions they have for those with jobs.
In this case, a follower asked him what they really wanted for Christmas.
They wrote: “I always give my bin men boxes of chocolate at Christmas but keep thinking they would prefer something else.
“Do you get presents from people and if so, which ones?”
The garbage man quickly gave his opinion and said they didn’t want boxes of chocolate for Christmas, or cheap beer.
He said, “I’m telling you what I don’t want: Fosters.
‘No one drinks Fosters. You don’t want it, so you give it to us.
“But usually people just give us things they don’t want anyway, so we don’t worry about that. We’ll take it.”
However, if you really want to get into their good books this year, he did have one piece of advice.
“Can I please have a bacon sandwich and a cup of coffee?” he said.
The clip was posted to his TikTok account theno1.binman quickly went viral with over 316,000 views and 4,300 likes.
People were quick to voice their opinions on what to give to their garbage collectors.
One person wrote: “Our street is collecting, each house gives £5 so they get just over £200 pounds. When I broke my foot they took the bin out of the garden and put it back for me.”
Another commented: “I’ve been baking my Bin Man cakes every week since lockdown, tomorrow they’ll have croissants and buy me a box of chocolates every Christmas.”
