Michelle Trachtenberg's official cause of death will never be known after a daring decision of her family.
The death of the 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' will remain a mystery forever after her family members officially objected to an autopsy, page six unveiled.
Her family was able to object to the procedure on religious grounds.
Now both the cause and the way of her death will be mentioned as 'indefinite' on her death certificate.
“According to public health, families can object to autopsy on the basis of religious faith, and on condition that there is no suspicion of crime or compelling reason for public health to continue autopsy, the medical researcher honors the objection,” a spokesperson for the Office of Chief Medical Examiner told the Outlet.
Medical examiners have conducted an external study on the 39-year-old actress, but it is now unlikely that further tests will be performed to determine what caused her tragic death.
The actress Gossip Girl was found dead on Wednesday in her apartment in New York City near Columbus Circle just after 8 hours of local time by her mother.
It was also reported that the actress recently undergone a liver transplant after fighting alcohol issues and 'possibly experienced complications'.

The Trachtenberg spokesperson told Dailymail.com: 'It is with great sadness to confirm that Michelle Trachtenberg has died. The family asks for privacy for their loss. There are no further details at the moment. '
The police said that there is no false game in her death.
“On Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at around 0801, the police responded to a 911 call from a helped person on 1 Columbus Place, within the limits of the Midtown North -District,” the police said in a statement.
'Upon arrival, officers observed a 39-year-old female female unconscious and non-responding. EMS responded to the location and explained the deceased victim.
“Crime is not suspected. The medical researcher will determine the cause of death. The investigation keeps going. '
Trachtenberg was quite known for her work as Buffy's (Sarah Michelle Gellar) younger sister Dawn Summers in Buffy the Vampire Slayer from 2000-2003.
She also had a recurring role as 'The Witch of the Upper East Side' Georgina Sparks in Gossip Girl next to Blake Lively Spanning 2008-2012.
In recent years, Trachtenberg had been worried about her health after sharing disturbing posts on social media in which she seemed weak.

Her last outing was Sartiano's restaurant in Soho last Thursday evening.
In the aftermath of her death, her former gossip girl co-star Ed Westwick shared a moving throwback from the star in the show, in the title: “So sad to hear from the death of Michelle Trachtenberg, who sent prayers.”
Her Harriet The Spy Co star Rosie O'Donnell mourn the 'heartbreaking' loss of Trachtenberg in a statement and added: 'I loved her a lot. She struggled in recent years. I wish I could have helped. '
In 2023, Michelle repeated her role in two episodes of the second (and last) season of HBO Max's Gossip Girl Reboot.
