Donald Trump was it last night that a mineral deal with several billions of dollars with Ukraine was the only security guarantee that the country will get.
Prior to a showdown of the White House today with VolodyMyr Zelensky, he seemed to exclude every American military 'backstop' to keep Russia at a distance after a cease -the fire.
Mr Zelensky and Sir Keir Starmer want to persuade the US president to offer air support to a European peace force after the conflict in Ukraine. But Mr. Trump, who has already excluded that sending ground troops, suggested that the business deal about natural resources would suffice.
During his meeting with the Prime Minister in Washington yesterday, the president said that the minerals deal “is the backstop.”
Mr Zelensky and Mr Trump are expected to sign the Multi billion Dollar Mineral Agreement today.
But for that meeting, the leader of Ukraine has sworn to be 'very direct' about the needs of his country to NATO membership or 'something similar'.
Meanwhile, yesterday asked by a reporter if he still believes that the Lord Zensky is a dictator, Mr. Trump replied: “Did I say that? I can't believe I would say that. '
Last week he made the comment about social media in reference to the cancellation of elections in Ukraine during the conflict with Russia.

Mr Trump added: 'Zensky will come here tomorrow morning. We are going to sign the deal. It will bring us into the country. So it's a backstop that you can say. I look forward to working with him and we will talk about it [security guarantees]. '
Although the Minerals deal does not include such guarantees, President Trump said earlier that it offers 'automatic security' if no country, including Russia, 'will mess with our people when we are there'.
The document only says that the 'United States of America will maintain a financial commitment in the long term for the development of a stable and economically prosperous Ukraine'. According to reports yesterday, President Trump wanted to cancel the meeting of today with Mr. Zensky and fear that the Ukrainian president would insist on NATO membership.
The visit was apparently cheerful after an eleventh hour of intervention by French President Emmanuel Macron, who reportedly called the White House on behalf of the Lord Zelensky.
The United States and Ukraine could eventually be able to share hundreds of billions of dollars of mining metallic compounds used in mobile phones, electric cars and defense application.
It is estimated that Ukraine contains 5 percent of the critical raw materials in the world, including 19 meters of tons of graphite and the group of 17 rare earth elements.
Plans for Mr Zelensky's visit to the US were completed yesterday when Vladimir Putin stuck against Western Elites to undermine conversations between the Superpowers of the Cold War. The Russian president was positive about first conversations with America about Ukraine.
He said yesterday in Moscow: 'The first contact with the new American administration gives some hope. There is a mutual desire to work on restoring relationships. [But] Some Western elites will try to undermine our dialogue. '
Yesterday it also turned out that Noord -Korea agreed to send no fewer than 3,000 troops to strengthen Kremlin's efforts to remove the remaining Ukrainian troops that occupy the southern province of Kursk. Last year, Noord -Korea deployed 12,000 soldiers, but this turned out not to be effective due to language problems and Russia used them as a cannon food.
It is estimated that 4,000 were killed with thousands of more injured. Ukraine has tart expectations by holding on to territory in Kursk, who hopes to use it as a negotiations in negotiations. Russia is determined to maintain the territory that it occupies in eastern Ukraine.
After the expected meeting of President Trump of today, Mr. Zensky is expected to fly to the UK on Sunday for conversations with Sir Keir and European leaders, including Mr. Macron.
