An Olympic gold medal winner was arrested after an undercoversteek on prostitution.
Freestyle wrestler Kyle Snyder, 29, one of the 16 people were reportedly sued after the operation by the police of Columbus in Ohio.
Snyder became the youngest hunter ever to land the clean sweep of the three major titles of his sport in 2016.
He lifted the world crown, Olympic title and NCAA struggling gongs.
The Columbus police confirmed that Snyder was arrested after an investigation on Friday.
American media say that police officers have placed escort ads online.
The police then used the answers to set possible arrests.
It is claimed that Snyder called a number and sent an SMS that was said to have been mentioned in the advertisement.
The triple world champion is accused of meeting the ‘escort’ in a hotel nearby.
He is confronted with claims that he then paid an undercover officer in cash and asked for oral sex.
Snyder was arrested for accusations of prostitution.
He was reportedly released on the spot and must appear in court on 19 May.
Snyder, from Woodbine, Maryland, is the youngest American wrestler who picked up Olympic gold – in Rio de Janeiro in Brazil nine years ago.
He followed that with silver on the Tokyo competitions in 2020, but missed a gong in Paris last year.
The triple national champion had recently registered for the new real American freestyle wrestling promotion, which was founded by Legend Hulk Hogan And former WWE director Eric Bischoff.
