Two Australian men were arrested as part of a worldwide study into the alleged production of AI-generated material for child abuse.

The men, a 31-year-old from Cairns in Queensland and a 38-year-old from Toukley in New South Wales, were sued this week due to the possession of material for child abuse in an operation that includes 19 countries.

The investigation began in Denmark when the local authorities arrested a man who is said to produce and sell material through a subscription service.

The Danish authorities reportedly brought 273 subscribers to light worldwide and the Australian Federal Police (AFP) tipped, which led to the two arrests this week.

More than 20 people are arrested worldwide as the research continues.

AFP-Detective Acting Chief Inspector Kurt Weche said that the Australian center to prevent the exploitation of children had witnessed an increase in AI-generated material for child abuse in the past 12 months.

“It is becoming more difficult for the police to distinguish whether an image shows a real child, and we are worried that AI-generated material guarantees our research resources to find real children who are abused and have damage,” he said.

'Although the children are not really depicted in this material, these criminal networks are still involved in the sexual exploitation of children.

'In Australia it is a criminal offense to create, possess or share content that reflects the abuse of someone under the age of 18; It is material for child abuse, regardless of whether it is “real” or not. '

The Cairns man was accused of four counts of possession of material for child abuse accessible or obtained with the help of a transport service and was saved.

He is planned to appear in court on March 19.

The Toukley man was accused of possessing material for child abuse that was accessible or obtained with the help of a transport service and the use of a transport service to gain access to child abuse material.
