A Range Rover of £ 10K was left to spiral a driveway that almost crushed a man and woman on his descent.
Shocking images shows the 4,000 pound vehicle losing control after it was left in 'maintenance mode' by a Jaguar Landrover garage near Leeds.
Carl Midlley brought his 2015 Range Rover Evoque to the dealer, not far from his house for work on the rear brakes when it was confused.
What followed was Mr Midgley's wife, Joanne, 63, who was left to desperately try to escape from the driver's portal while the vehicle got away.
It is because the couple had noticed that the handbrake did not work when they returned home and parked in their driveway.
The hectic climbing of the 63-year-old to get out of the car was fortunately bought by a built-up flower bed and while Mr Midlley threw himself behind the vehicle in an attempt to stop.
Body work repairs were required on the Range Rover as a result of the accident and Mr Midgley said that the error of the garage could easily have killed someone – the trendy problem of his wife worse as she walks with a stick.
The 60-year-old explained: 'I could never have imagined this, but that happened and it was very dangerous.

The 60-year-old explained that the hip problem of his wife was worse as she walks with a stick
'The car had been to a Jaguar Landrover garage and when we returned, we parked, but without us hadn't been able to have been left in a maintenance mode – the car usually puts on the handbrake automatically.
“My wife got out and it dragged her down. She was already waiting for hip surgery.
“I had physio on my back.
'They caused an injury to my back and made my wife's hip worse.
“They have now told us to leave.”
The MidGleys, who are foster carers, immediately contacted the garage after the error.
The technical team of Land Rover UK inspected the car and said there was nothing wrong with it – but a mode used when working on the vehicle was accidentally left by the garage when it was collected by the couple.
After the smash, the car was damaged and they needed repairs to the rear bumper, door, tires and wheels that cost an estimated several thousand pounds, which recovered the garage, Vertu Land Rover, near Leeds, for free.

But Mr Midlley claimed that he had been left back and ahead and complained to the garage who are not willing to compensate the couple further.
'We often have our grandchildren left and are foster carers. A toddler could have killed that car, “he said.
“I don't believe what they have done for us is honest.”
A spokesperson for the dealer said: 'This issue was resolved in 2023, where the customer accepted extensive goodwill gestures.
“We are happy that the customer still uses our services.”
