Brittany Higgins and David Sharaz have welcomed their first child.
The former political employee went to Instagram on Sunday evening to announce the birth of their baby boy, along with a photo of the small collection of joy in a hospital cot.
Another photo showed the baby's little fingers wrapped around his mother's hand.
“Last night we welcomed our little boy in the world,” read Higgins' Post.
'Thank you to the great nurses and doctors for their care and kindness.
“We are both looking forward to doing the newest member of the family – forever grateful for all the love and support we have received.”
The name of the baby has yet to be revealed.
The post was quickly flooded with messages from benefactors.

Mrs. Higgins and her husband married last June in a lush wedding at the Gold Coast and announced that they were expecting their first child weeks later.
'I can't wait to meet you! More excited to welcome a new member in our small family, “she posted last July.
“Your parents are already obsessed with you and you are not even there yet.”
In October Mrs. Higgins shared a series of photos of her flowering babybuil at her French castle in France.
She revealed that the first half of her pregnancy had been 'acute stressful' after he had received disturbing news about her unborn baby.
That stress came on top of the recent death of her grandmother after a resilient process from her former boss, liberal senator Linda Reynolds.
“Fourteen days ago, David and I had the shock of our lives after the midwife told us halfway through my second trimester that my blood test had raised some red flags,” Higgins wrote at the time.
'Our baby had a great chance of a genetic disorder – which was not important for us – but could mean scary that he might be incompatible with life outside the womb.

'After a amniotic fluid puncture and an apparently never -ending waiting, our prayers were answered. Our little man is fine and healthy.
“My mind can only go back to that waiting room in the hospital, full of pregnant women, all of whom had the same test as we and if they had been so happy.”
In December 2023, the Australia couple fled for a new life on their taxpayer – franked French castle – one year after Higgins received more than $ 2.4 million from taxpayers for her loss of earning capacity, legal costs, medical costs, domestic help and $ 400,000 'for pain and humiliation'.
The payment by the Albanian government was for her treatment in Canberra after her alleged rape by former colleague Bruce Lehrmann in Parliament House in 2019.
Less than a year later, the couple was forced to place their mansion with three bedrooms in Lunas, a small village 100 km east of Bordeaux on the market to defend the defamation shop set by Senator Reynolds and return to Australia.

The castle is expected to be sold with a huge loss, because it is still six months after it was offered for sale, even on the market, even after the prize was lowered last year.
Daily Mail Australia recently demonstrated that the couple will probably set up a new house in Melbourne with their new baby.
It is clear that they hope to buy in the wealthy, family -friendly suburb of Malvern East.
Higgins has set her sights on Malvern East because her best friend, lobbyist Emma Webster, who supported Higgins every day during the slurry process, lives there.
