The older brother of Canterbury Bulldogs -star Bronson Xerri has received bail.

Troy Anthony Xerri, 33, appeared in SydneyS Supreme Court On Tuesday for a bail after he was sued in connection with an alleged violent home invasion last year.

The police claim that he is one of the four people who was broken into in an apartment in Wattle Crescent in Pyrmont on 21 May 2024 and attacked the resident and robbed his house.

Xerri, 33, was arrested by the police in July 2024, and was later accused by the police of breaking and entering a home and inflicting serious physical injury.

No supplications were introduced, but his lawyer, Gabrielle Bashir, asked the court on Tuesday for his release on bail, and quoted grounds that members of his family were unwell.

During the guarantee application, his counsel added that Xerri was needed at home to help his wife with their families.

The 33-year-old will return to court in June.

Footy Star Bronson Xerri is not accused of misconduct.

It is claimed that Troy Xerri, together with the three other fellow-accused persons, had been given access to the home of the alleged victim by stating that a toilet had leaked up in the building and that they had to inspect a bathroom, the court heard.

The alleged victim was reportedly beaten by one of the men on the head while he had turned his back to them.

The four people would then ordered the alleged victim to give them money while they kick him.

The man lost consciousness and was later found by a member of the security team of the building.

His hands were tied together by cable tires, while his apartment was robbed.

The alleged victim was admitted to the hospital and required an operation for the injuries he sustained, in which Justice Rothman stated that he had “suffered life -threatening skull and brain bleeding, with acutely increased intracranial pressure.”

He also walked cuts on his face and arms.

“In essence, these are very serious violations that relate to abuse that cause damage and kidnapping,” Justice Rothman told court.

The conditions of his release on bail require Xerri to offer a deposit of $ 500,000.

He is also obliged to stay under house arrest and to wear an electronic single bracelet.

While he has on a bail, he must also report to the police and hand over his passport every day.
