Public transport has been canceled because residents of Brisbane are told to stay within their homes while Cyclone Alfred is preparing to make landing.
Buses and trains will come to a halt on Wednesday evening with services that have to be canceled on Thursday and Friday in Southeast Queensland.
Citycat and Ferry Services will be suspended from Monday evening.
The Bureau of Meteorology expects Cyclone Alfred in Brisbane to make two system early on Friday morning as a category two system.
However, it warned that the system could come earlier than expected.
The cyclone will probably bring heavy rain shower, floods, destructive winds and storms in the southeast of the state.
Mayor of Brisbane, Adam Schrinner, advised residents to stay at home for the next two days and to prevent them from driving.
“If you drive on the road during storm winds, everything can happen, it can be an incredibly dangerous situation,” he said.

'There may be items that have become projectiles that can fall into you, there may be power lines as a result of fallen trees that you can electrocute.
“So people should not come out tomorrow and the next day, at least.”
Queensland -Prime Minister David Crisafulli said that large roads and bridges will be closed when the wind reaches 90 km/h.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has deployed Australian Defense Force troops and vehicles to help the state prepare for the system.
Cyclone Alfred will bring the first direct Cyclone impact of Southeast Queensland in 50 years.
Residents along the northern rivers of New South Wales have also been told to prepare for raw conditions by staying inside and everything that protects items that can be vulnerable for strong winds.
