The police in South Dakota are looking for a missing baby boy after a woman asked for him to temporarily refuse to give him up.
Soze Butler, who is only seven months old, was missing on 28 February and was last seen on 27 February.
On Tuesday, the Sioux Falls Police Department published an arrest warrant against Betty Cross, 38, who claimed that she kidnapped the toddler.
Sam Clemens, a spokesperson for the department, said reporters that Cross had refused to hand over the custody of the boy. They did not say whether the two are related.
The arrest warrant has a bond of $ 100,000, in which Clemens adds that they believe that Butler is currently safe.
KXRB reports that the parents of Butler considered a good friend with whom they felt at ease to leave the child.
According to the South Dakota Missing Persons Clearinghouse, Butler is described as blue eyes and brown hair.

In a message to the South Dakota Missing Persons page on Facebook, it claims that Cross had returned to hand butler over the Department of Social Services.
Clemens said: 'Because of the nature of the report, I cannot go into detail about what the mail says or even confirm one of those information.
'The best thing I can say is that there are no safety problems at the moment. It is clear that if we have other information, that can change. But at the moment we believe that he is safe. '
Cross is also mentioned on the site of the state of missing persons and describes her as an African woman with brown eyes and black hair.
