The Premier League season 2024/25 has almost reached its climax with two more rounds of luminaires.
Matchweek 37 has a rare schedule without games that take place on Saturday.
Tort Brings you the reason why no competitions are planned for the usual slots on the penultimate matchweek of the season.
Why are there no Premier League matches on Saturday?
There will be no top matches on Saturday after a drastic change in the footballING agenda was made prior to the beginning of 2024/25.
Last April, the FA and the Premier League reached an agreement that the FA Cup final would be played on an exclusive Saturday.
And the Blockbuster Wembley pronouncement between Crystal Palace And Manchester City is planned for this Saturday, so there are no prems competitions.
The FA statement was: “The Emirates FA Cup final now takes place in the penultimate weekend of the Premier League season, on an exclusive Saturday without Premier League matches that take place on the same day.”
The announcement also stated that no prem-games would be played the day before the final: “Moreover, there will be no Premier League matches on the Friday evening before the final, to make the focus on structure of the showpiece event possible.”
However, that is not happening now with two top matches booked on Friday evening.
The collision of Manchester United with Chelsea in Stamford Bridge was moved to Friday in April to ensure that there is no collision with the FA Cup final of the ladies between the two clubs.
And because of the involvement of the Red Devils in the Europa League final with Tottenham, Spurs has submitted a request to the Premier League To move their Sunday fixture with Aston Villa to Friday to let both parties have the same number of rest time for the all-English blockbuster in Bilbao.
