A child died tragically in a serious collision in a rugby club that injured another young person after a car was said to have driven on a sports field.
Emergency services ran to the stage shortly before 5 p.m. after a crash with a black BMW i40 and two children.
It took place in Kendal Rugby Union Football Club in Westmorland and Furness.
The second child involved is treated by paramedics and the families of both young people have been informed by the police.
The driver of the car, a man in the forty, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
Specialist researchers have been deposited on site and the area has been deposited while applying for the first investigation.
Cops deal with this collision as an isolated incident and there is currently no suggestion that this is terror -related.

The chairman of Kendal Rugby Club Dr. Stephen Green said in a statement: 'We are deeply sad to confirm that an incident took place today in Kendal Rugby Club, which resulted in a tragic loss of a child's life.
'Our thoughts are with their family and friends and we kindly ask for privacy for all involved in this difficult time.
“We work completely with the authorities while conducting their research – the club and all facilities are temporarily closed while this is being implemented.”
A spokesperson for the Cumbria police said: 'Emergency services are present in a serious collision in Kendal.
'The police were contacted today at 4.58 pm with a report of a collision with a car and two children on a throw in Kendal Rugby Union Football Club on Shap Road.
'The police can confirm that unfortunately one of the children involved has died. The second child involved in this collision is treated by paramedics.
'Direct family members of both respective children have been informed.
'Specialist researchers have been deposited on site and the area has been deposited while applying for the first investigation are taking place.
'The driver of the car, a man in his forty, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. The car involved was a black BMW i40. '
