Supermarkets in Zuidoost -Veensland will close today in the midst of fears that Cyclone Alfred Will Intesify is before he lands on Friday evening or Saturday morning.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese confirmed that residents on the path of the Cycloon could not go to the stores within a few hours.
“Queensland -supermarkets in affected areas will come close from today,” said Mr. Albanese.
A video that was shared on Wednesday evening showed dozens of enthusiastic customers who stormed an Aldi store in Brisbane to get last-minute stocks.
As soon as the roller door opened, customers sprint to get much -needed goods, knowing that they might have to go 48 hours before stores open again.
Supermarket boards in Southeast -Queensland and Noord -NSW are stripped of bottle water, toilet paper, bread, milk, eggs and other supplies prior to the arrival of Alfred.
Coles stores will run fewer staff and the supermarket has closed a few stores in Southeast -Veensland and Noord -NSW.
A spokesperson said: 'We already have extra deliveries on the roads, with a focus on stimulating our supply of meat, milk, bread, water, canned goods, baby formula and toilet paper.

Aldi Supermarkets closed shops in the city of Gold Coast LGA from 5 pm on Wednesday to Saturday. Stores in the NSW Northern Rivers are closed until Saturday, while branches in Brisbane, Redlands City, Ipswich, Logan, Moreton Bay and Sunshine Coast Lgas close at 2 p.m. on Thursday.
Bunnings will continue to work, so that people can take articles to protect their houses against wind and rain damage.
However, a spokesperson said that some stores may have to close temporarily if it became unsafe to operate, with updates placed on the website of the company.
Bottle stores such as Liquorland, Vintage Cellars, Dan Murphy's and BWS are open in Southeast -Queensland, including Brisbane, but the shops of Dan Murphy and BWS are closed on the Gold Coast.
Chemists will remain open while it is safe.
Residents is told to fill their fuel tanks immediately, with service stations to close from Thursday afternoon.
The Australasian Convenience and Petroleum Marketeers Association said that fuel deliveries would stop at Service Stations on Thursday from 4 p.m. until the Cycloon decreased.
Alfred's path delayed considerably at night with experts who predict that the delay was probably bad news', and billions of dollars will be expected of damage.
Cyclone Alfred was on Thursday at 7.46 am about 285 km east of Brisbane, delayed to 7 km/h.
