President Donald Trump is planning his biggest cuts on the federal workforce, but when his administration arises more than 70,000 employees at the Department of Veterans Affairs.
The Staff Chef of the VA, Christopher Syrek, wrote, in a memo obtained by CNN, that the department collaborated with Elon Musk's Doge Agency to restructure the VA and 'changing' the workforce.
That plan includes reversing the department back to the personnel levels from 2019 of 399.957 employees, which means that around 76,000 employees should be terminated among the 470,000 employees.
The VA, which handles the care for the veterans of the nation, is one of the largest federal departments. It has the second largest federal workforce after the Ministry of Defense.
Trump and Musk have been on a mission to make the federal government again, including reducing the size of its workforce, reducing costs and closing federal agencies.

For example, almost 10,000 people were terminated when the USAID was closed.
