NYT Strands Today (Contest #134) – The Answers
The answers to today’s Strands question, game #134, are…
- DUKE
- RICE
- TUFFLES
- NORTHWESTERN
- BROWN
- TEMPLE
- SPANGRAM: UNIVERSITIES
- My score: Difficult
- My score: 4 tips
This was one of those Strands puzzles that I accidentally made much harder because I was born outside the United States. As I’ve said before, I live in the UK, and with all due respect to the participants, past and present, of TUFTS, RICE, and TEMPLE, I’m no expert on American universities. In the UK it’s easier; think of a city or town and you’ll probably have a university named, which in the US apparently isn’t the case.
The result is that I needed multiple hints to solve today’s game. I found the spangram, UNIVERSITIES, myself, plus NORTHWESTERN and BROWN, but that was it. Frustrating.
How was your day? Send me an email and let me know.
