A missing woman from New York City was found dead after her body was dumped in a bag of a busy highway.
Pamela Alcantara, 26, was last seen with a bag of collecting her unit in her Bronx apartment building on Sunday morning, but she was never seen, according to the New York Daily News.
Her body was found on Thursday in a bag in Tibbetts Brook Park in Yonkers, about 100 feet distance from the Saw Mill River Parkway, on Thursday.
Her boyfriend, with whom she lived, had his license plate read in the vicinity of the park and became a person of interest, police sources told The Daily News.
Her partner, who was not identified, is not accused of a crime, but he is in custody.
Alcantara and her friend's five -year relationship were in a rocky stage, according to her brother Isacc Lopez, who said his sister had recently told her family that she had to leave the shared apartment.
“It didn't work,” said Lopez The Daily News. “She wanted to leave.”
The family started to worry about the young woman after she did not show up for a church event.

Her mother Sunilda Rubiera, who lives in the Dominican Republic, flew back to help in searching for Alcantara after she reported her missing.
“We knew she was missing because she didn't go to church on Sunday. She never missed a service, “Lopez told the outlet.
Alcantara worked with people who have to deal with homelessness and her family remembers her as 'friendly and helpful'.
“She never had problems with anyone,” Lopez told the outlet.
The family wants to transport her body to the Dominican Republic to be buried next to her younger sister, said a GoFundme.
Detectives found her body while they performed a search for her when they did not respond to her body in Yonkers.
She was declared dead on the spot and her official cause of death will be determined by the medical investigator.
