One of the best things you can get if you often lose your keys or travel a lot is an Apple AirTag. If you don’t want to lose them either, you might want to consider getting an AirTag accessory like a holder, keychain, or case. Whether you want to use it for your keys, your luggage, or something else, there are a variety of holders available that are sure to fit wherever and however you want. Here are the best Apple AirTag accessories we’ve found.
You don’t always need an accessory to use an Apple AirTag. In some cases, you can simply slip the tag into something you want to keep close at hand, like your bag or backpack. In some cases, a mount works better, like with keys or a laptop bag where you don’t want things sliding around too much. If you do want to stick your AirTag to an object, there are plenty of AirTag mounts available.

Keyrings and straps
Though it launched a bit later than some of the Apple AirTag accessories, Otterbox’s keychain holder, which Otterbox calls a “Rugged Case,” is made of sturdy plastic and does indeed encase your AirTag (you unscrew the top piece, place your AirTag in the case, then screw the top piece back on to lock the AirTag into the holder). It’s available in black or white for $20.
This affordable imitation leather keychain from Cyrill, a sub-brand of the Korean Spigen, is not very special, but it is available in stone gray and black.
The Apple logo leather keychain costs $35 and comes in three colors: black, saddle brown, and red.
If you’re looking for a budget option, your best bet might be to take a chance on a no-name brand on Amazon. This Eusty keychain case comes in a four-pack for just under $10. Often, generic models like this one are labeled as “leather” when they’re actually faux leather (sometimes referred to as PU leather or vegan leather). These look pretty much like other standard AirTag faux leather keychains and come in a few color options.
There are dozens, if not hundreds, of generic AirTag mounts available. Most should be fine, but don’t expect them to wear out as well over time as the real leather models.
Caseology’s AirTag Vault is another simple keychain option that starts at $14 but could shave a few dollars off the price over time. (Caseology is also a sub-brand of Spigen.) It’s one of the few Apple AirTag accessories that was available at launch and has become quite popular as a result. It comes with a carabiner, but you can attach a standard keychain to it if you prefer. It should be back in stock soon.
Spigen also sells an attractively simple keychain Apple AirTag holder, the Valentinus, for about $13. It’s made of faux leather. Unfortunately, it’s temporarily out of stock, but it should be back in the coming weeks.
If you’re looking for a mount that you can stick to an object (like the bottom of a bike seat or scooter), Pelican’s Stick-on AirTag Mount is designed to do just that. A single mount costs $13, while a pack of four costs $30. It comes in a variety of colors.
Apple’s Loop, designed to attach your AirTag to a bag, costs about the same as an AirTag. But it’s Apple’s official loop option, and this polyurethane option is cheaper than the leather $35 leather loop(That doesn’t mean it’s a good deal, but I just wanted to point it out.) It comes in four different colors.
I like the design of Nomad’s leather AirTag keychain better than Apple’s, where the AirTag is partially visible. This AirTag keychain hides it and looks more like a standard keychain. It’s designed to “weather” over time, darkening (especially the brown version). It comes in brown or black for $30, which is pricey but nice.
Nomad also makes a Leather Loop that doubles as a keychain for $10. I prefer the more expensive model pictured.
Spigen, known for its affordable iPhone cases, has its Apple AirTag Case Rugged Armor. It’s not quite as cheap as we’d hoped, but perhaps the price will come down over time. It does have a rugged design, though, with a nice carabiner and carbon fiber elements.
Casetify has a wide variety of AirTag holders. They’re made of hard plastic and are pretty basic, but have some eye-catching graphics on the back. You can also personalize them with your name or choose from a variety of emojis and other graphics. They’re expensive at $38, but they do occasionally go on sale.
Other AirTag Options
Moment, which makes and sells photo and video accessories for Apple products, including lens mounts, will have a housing accessory that lets you attach your Apple AirTag. “Made from a durable aramid fiber housing and backed by a super-strong adhesive, you can stick an AirTag to any flat surface,” Moment says.
Moment also has the Stretch fabric attachment for AirTags ($20) designed to stick to fabrics, such as the inside of a bag, and other flat surfaces.
If you don’t want to spend $15-$20 on a mount, these Gorilla Mounting Tape Squares are a cheaper option and can be custom cut to fit AirTags. AirTags have an IPX67 water resistance rating, which means they can be fully submerged in up to 1 meter of water for 30 minutes and are dustproof. So, they can withstand some punishment without a case. After all, they don’t have a screen.
The AirTag uses a CR2032 coin cell battery, which lasts about a year. You can find a 10-pack of those on Amazon for under $10. That’s the way to go, especially if you have multiple AirTags, and other devices that use CR2032 coin cells.
Remember to always keep button cell batteries away from small children so that they do not accidentally swallow one. They can cause serious injury if swallowed.
