The house where the bodies of a mother and her disabled teenage daughter were found was raided by anti-terrorist police a week before their deaths.

Jennifer Carrig, 53, and her daughter Ella, 13, were found dead in two separate bedrooms of their Menzies Rd home in Marsfield in Sydney’s northwest last Thursday.

Just eight days before the tragic discovery of their bodies in separate bedrooms, NSW Police officers attached to the Counter Terrorism and Special Tactics Command executed a search warrant at the same home during a raid in the early morning of July 2

Police arrested Ms Carrig’s 19-year-old son Christopher, who had been under investigation since he allegedly spray-painted Nazi symbols on the walls of Macquarie University in May. Daily telegram reported.

The teen is also accused of intimidating a man on nearby Herring Rd. shortly after the alleged vandalism, which was reportedly uploaded online.

Police have charged Christopher with six felonies in connection with the alleged vandalism, and said items related to “far-right ideology” were seized during the raid.

He was bailed to appear in Burwood District Court on August 13 charged with allegedly destroying or damaging property, blackening the face or disguising oneself with intent to commit an offence, possessing a graffiti instrument, entering prescribed premises without lawful reason, stalking or intimidation and entering restricted premises without lawful reason.

A 20-year-old woman who was also arrested will appear in court next week.

Daily Mail Australia does not suggest Christopher Carrig was involved in the deaths of his mother Jennifer or sister Ella.

New South Wales Police have launched a major investigation into the deaths of Ms Carrig and Ella. The investigation is ongoing.

Initially, it was claimed that the deaths were not being treated as suspicious.

Sources have since revealed that detectives are also investigating whether the deaths were the result of murder and suicide.

It is not yet clear how they died, as neither Mr Carrig nor her daughter had any visible injuries.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted New South Wales police for comment.

The tragedy prompted an outpouring of tributes to the couple, who had lived in the house for several years.

Mrs Carrig is remembered as the ‘best mother’ to her family, including to her daughter Ella, who was disabled and required full-time care.

“She was the best, so caring and thoughtful,” Mrs Carrig’s best friend Samantha Thomas-Barber told the Daily telegram.

“A true sweetheart and fighter… she was the best mother to her family.”

Neighbors in the quiet suburb were “completely shocked.”

Many said that they Thursday morning they heard or saw nothing out of the ordinary until they saw the emergency services in their street.

“I’m devastated,” said one local resident.

“When we saw all those police, we couldn’t imagine that this was the reason.”

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.

Crisis support is available through Lifeline on 13 11 14 and Beyond Blue on 1300 22 4636.
