A missing student from the University of Pittsburgh who disappeared during the spring break in the Dominican Republic is supposed to have died by drowning.
Sudiksha Konanki, 20, traveled to the Caribbean country with five other Pittsburgh students, according to the Sheriff's Office of Loudoun County, said that she and one of the other students will come from the Virginia County.
She was last seen on the beach with a bikini outside the Riu Republica resort in Punta Cana on security cameras around 4.50 hours on Thursday.
Three Dominican officials involved in the investigation have since told ABC News that she was walking on the beach with six people the night before.
The majority of the group returned to the hotel at a certain moment at night, but one person was left with Konanki on the beach, according to a research report obtained by the network.
She and this person eventually went swimming and were caught by a large wave.
But the spokesperson for Loudoun County Sheriff's Office Thomas Julia asked for the report and told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette that Speculation Konanki could have drowned 'based on her last known location near the beach'.

'But [there]S]no evidence to support that conclusion at the moment, “he claimed.
“The investigation looks at everything, from an accident to cheat and interviews are underway, together with the assessment of video and telephone records,” Julia continued.
“The best result is that she is found alive and well.”
The police have already spoken with Konanki's friends to determine exactly where a maritime search should be directed, according to CNN.
They said that Konanki told them that she was going to a party in the resort on Wednesday evening, and her friends warned authorities when she was not in her room the next morning.
She was last seen in a two -part bikini, large round earrings, a metal designer single switch on her right leg, yellow and steel bracelets on her right wrist and multicolored bracelets on her left.
A recent image of her showed her that matched that description.

According to her LinkedIn profile, the pre-media student is expected to graduate at the university in 2026.
Prior to the university, she went to Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology in Alexandria, Virginia.
“My daughter is a very nice girl. She is ambitious, “said her father, Subbarayudu Konanki. “She wanted to pursue a career in medicine.”
The US Department of Foreign Affairs is now working with the Indian embassy in the Dominican Republic, who has taken the lead in the investigation, because Konanki is an Indian citizen who was a permanent American resident, Julia said.
That research will include further interviews with other students, family members and others in the Dominican Republic and Loudoun County.
In the meantime, Jared Stonesifer, a spokesperson for the University of Pittsburgh, said that school officials have had contact with Konanki's family and local officials.
“We have offered our full support in their efforts to find her and bring her home safely,” said Stonesifer.
“Everyone with information is encouraged to contact the Sheriff's Office of Loudoun County.”

Those in the Riu Republica Resort have also had to contend without electricity, no running water and scarce food
News about the disappearance of Konanki comes months after the US Department of Foreign Affairs has given a travel advice at level two for the Dominican Republic, in which Americans are warned to get greater caution when visiting the country.
“Violent crime, including armed robbery, murder and sexual attack is a concern in the Dominican Republic,” said the department in her travel advice in June.
It went further to warn our visitors to be aware of their environment and not to show signs of wealth.

One holiday maker claimed that Wi-Fi was also down and noted that 'people in the lobby are who charge their phones'.
Some tourists even had to charge their devices and use fans behind the receptionist desk in the resort, another person who was shared online.
A group of women who stayed in the resort was also in the dark while they ate a meal they succeeded in 'catching up together'.
“They have a restaurant to feed a few thousand people,” said another.
