There is a search going on to a surfer that it is believed to have been attacked by a shark on a popular beach.
St John wa ambulance rushed to the scene on Monday in the Duke of Orleans Bay Area in Condingup, on the south coast of West -Australia, about 12.10 pm AWST (3.10 pm AEDT) on Monday.
Emergency Services received a triple zero call that warned them of a 'possible shark bite incident', the Western Australian reported.
Witnesses claimed a surfer on Wharton Beach, about 80 km east of Esperance, seemed to be in need.
Their surfboard was found in the water a short time later, but the surfer could not be.
“A shark was observed in the area for a short time before and beachgoers left the water,” said Wa, the police.
“At the moment it is unclear what happened and whether a surfer is missing.”
The Primary Industries and Regional Development department cooperates with emergency services to respond to the incident.
