A young father on the edge of homelessness has asked politicians about their plans to reduce immigration and make homes more affordable for struggling Australians.

Morgan Cox applied ABC's Q+a panel in Wyong on Monday evening to the NSW Central Coast to ask why the Albanian government approved mass migration to the country when the limited housing stock yielded unreasonable rental increases.

“I want to know, the government will reduce immigration to match the availability of homes or will we continue until every regular working Australian is homeless?”

Mr. Cox's vulnerability was received with applause from the public, but the reaction of the panel to the desperate father seemed loose in the light of the record -high immigration levels, of more than 500,000 a year, under labor.

'We know we need more house. We just have to build more houses. '

An emotional Mr. Cox was seen that he shook his head about Mr Butler's comments.
