The suggestion of Elon Musk that Ukraine was behind a cyber attack on his social media site X has been rejected by one of the top experts of Great Britain.
Ciaran Martin, who was previously in charge of the national cyber protection of the UK, said that there was 'absolutely no evidence'. The attack came from the country torn by war.
X, which is still generally known as Twitter, despite the rebranding efforts of Mr. Musk, on Monday suffered serious disruption with a series of malfunctions.
In a post on the site, Mr. Musk said that a 'massive cyber attack' had been performed 'with many means' and he was 'tracing' its origin.
The billionaire Tech -Mogul – an ally of US President Donald Trump – added a “large, coordinated group and/or a country involved.”
He later focused his finger on Ukraine and told Fox News that he was “not sure what exactly happened”, but the attack came from IP addresses “from the Okraine area.”
Nevertheless, Professor Martin, who helped to find the UK National Cyber Security Center (NCSC) to 2020 between 2016 and then in Leiden, the claims of Mr. Musk Wreef.
He pointed out how a Pro-Palestinian 'Hacktivist' group had already claimed the responsibility for the attack.

The suggestion of Elon Musk that Ukraine was behind a cyber attack on his social media site X has been rejected by one of the best experts in Britain as 'garbage'

X, which is still generally known as Twitter, despite the rebranding efforts of Mr. Musk, on Monday suffered serious disturbance with a series of malfunctions
Professor Martin told the Today program of BBC Radio 4: 'We will wait and see if they are responsible.
“But there is absolutely no evidence that this came from Ukraine.”
The cyber security expert, which is now located at the University of Oxford, explained how X seemed to be subject to a distributed denial of service (DDOS) attack.
“Facts are always cloudy and Twitter clearly went down three times and struggled for a large part of the day,” he said.
'It looks like what we call a DDOS attack … where attackers point a lot of traffic on a website and it falls. It seems that that is what happened. '
Professor Martin doubted the cyber protection options of X about the 'remarkable incident' and added: 'I am very surprised that X fell as a result of a DDOS attack.
'It is a very large-scale DDOS attack, but it is not that refined, it is a very old technique.
'I cannot think of a company of the size and standing, internationally, of X that has been falling on a DDOS attack for a long time.
“It does not reflect well on their cyber protection.”

The businessman later pointed to Ukraine and told Fox News that he was 'not sure what exactly happened', but the attack came from IP addresses 'from the Ukraine area'.
Professor Martin also asked Mr. Musk's 'remarkable' suggestion – who was previously ridiculed because he insisted on online false claims – that Ukraine was blamed.
'What Mr. Musk said is completely convincing based on the evidence so far. It is almost waste, “he added.
'He mentioned in a message on X, when it came online again, that he' traced '.
'In a DDOS attack you can trace where part of the traffic comes to IP addresses and Musk has said that some of the IP addresses have come from Ukraine.
'That tells you absolutely nothing, because what hackers do in these types of attacks is that they hijack infrastructure – CCTV cameras, the devices from all over the world.
“So some of them will come from Ukraine, some of them will come from Russia, some of them will come from Great -Britain, the US, South America, everywhere.
“It tells you absolutely nothing.”
Mr. Musk has been one of Kiev's fiercest critics, in the midst of the dramatic spit of Mr Trump with the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zensky.
The richest man in the world claimed last month that he is a 'purchased active' from Russia by making a joke that the autocratic leader of the country of Vladimir Putin cannot pay me '.
