Government sources told The Times that the Home Office is trying to resolve about the abuse of this Maas in the law by removing the ETA status of the country.
A government spokesperson said the newspaper: 'There is a significant increase in the number of nationals of Trinidad and Tobago who comes to the VK as visitors to only claim asylum upon arrival, which is an abuse of our immigration system.
'The relationship of the UK with Trinidad and Tobago remains a strong one, and we will continue to welcome visitors, who must now request a visit visa.
“This decision will be assessed.”
