National Public Radio wrongly sent an e-mail with all staff and told a host that he could not attend LGBTQ Pride event, because the network connects under the anti-dei policy of the Trump administration.

NPR's managing editor for standards and practices Tony Cavin told 'All Things Telated' Host Ari Shapiro.

“The guidance in our ethical handbook is to avoid” performances at the private industry or business functions, “Cavin told Shapiro in the E -mail that was accidentally sent to the news agency and international editors.

“Because this is a closed business event, I think it would be best to refuse politely.”

Shapiro answered quickly and asked why his earlier performances at Pride events were approved.

'Every year I spoke at Corporate Pride events and you have signed it personally. It has never been a problem before, “he said. “I am curious what has changed.”

After Semafor reported on Cavin's E -Mails with Shapiro, NPR turned over and gave the host permission to attend the event.

“This decision was made shortly after the original e -mailthread,” a spokesperson told Outlet.

NPR was criticized for the 'obsession with dei' and is under the groover of the Ministry of Efficiency of Trump and Elon Musk.

The Doge Congressional Subcommittee has called NPR boss Katherine Maher to testify on Capitol Hill to defend the government financing they use to defend 'systematically favored content'.

NPR responded to the summons and stated that the company 'welcomes the opportunity' to testify and be proud of it 'according to the highest standards of journalism'.

“Our president and CEO Katherine Maher received a request to testify for the subcommittee on the delivery of government's efficiency in March,” said the outlet.

“We welcome the possibility of discussing the crucial role of public media in supplying impartial, fact -based news and reporting to the American public.”

Doge subcommissie chairman Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene said that the department is planning to tackle his concerns about the 'flagrant ideological and partisan cover' of the station during the hearing, planned for the week of 24 March.

The letter sent to Maher quoted NPR's decision not to report on a laptop from the son of the former president, who claimed critics, implies members of the Biden family in a corruption scandal.

The subcommittee then mentioned a statement from NPR in October 2020 with regard to the laptop, which says: “We don't want to waste our time on stories that are not really stories, and we don't want to waste the time of the listeners and readers on stories that are just pure distractions.”

Doge also mentioned a destructive essay written by Uri Berliner, former senior business editor for NPR.

Berliner, who worked for the outlet from 1999 to April 2024, shot NPR for his extremely left political bias while he refers to the outlet as 'an assembly line'.

NPR Chief Diversity Officer Keith Woods announced his retirement in February. His decision came when Trump performed the dei policy.

In recent weeks, Trump has signed a series of executive orders that have led to the federal agencies demolished dei programs and have dismissed thousands in the process.

In an interview on Semafor's Summit in Washington last month, Maher acknowledged that the organization would not hire anyone to replace forest.
