Renée Zellweger’s ‘irregular facial alterations’ cost $121,000, plastic surgeon says
BRIDGET JONES is back — and maybe thanks to a little work, her face is too.
A plastic surgeon has suggested that Renée Zellweger has undergone further facial alterations to restore her natural appearance ahead of filming her latest role as shy Bridget.
Renée, 55, was photographed filming scenes in London for Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy.
The Texas resident has been in the British capital since April.
There has been much discussion about the award-winning actress’ appearance over the years, with alterations sometimes making her “unrecognisable”.
But plastic surgeon Dr. Richard Westreich claims that Renee has tried to ‘limit’ her use of injections, as she speaks to Bridget for the first time since 2016’s Bridget Jones’s Baby.
“Two years ago something went wrong,” he told The US Sun.
“She probably had heavy filler treatment on her cheeks and lips, or what we call a liquid facelift.
“Renée has been trying to pull it all back lately. In March she seemed overloaded, but in May she looked better.
“Since the filming of Bridget Jones, it seems that Renée is no longer in her element.”
Also starring in the film Mad About The Boy will be 27-year-old British heartthrob Leo Woodall, who is reportedly a friend of single mother Bridget.
BACK TO REALITY
According to Western EmpireRenée may have spent $121,000 on two liquid facelifts in twenty years.
He said an eyelid stitching procedure could have been done, Botox had been used and now $1,000 had been spent on “dissolving” a filler.
At first she did not have her face modified.
Dr. Westreich
“Maybe some of the filler has dissolved and I suspect she has stopped the Botox treatment,” he said.
“This could have been just in time for the filming of Bridget Jones in London.
“It looks like Renée is trying to look more like Bridget Jones. After all, Bridget Jones has real lips.”
Renée has always denied having plastic surgery.
Her changing appearance on the red carpet is sometimes a talking point in Hollywood.
The biggest change in her face occurred in 2014.
Dr. Westreich
“I’m glad people think I look different! I live a different, happier, more fulfilling life and I’m glad it might show,” she said People from 2017.
“My friends say I look peaceful. I am healthy,” she added.
EVERYTHING CHANGES
Westreich, who has not yet treated the star, suggested that Renée begin cosmetic treatments in 2005.
“In the 1990s, it seemed like Renée was doing standard stuff,” he said.
“At first she didn’t have her face modified.
“In 2005 she started with botox and some lip fillers. It seems that this increased in 2010.
“The biggest change in her face happened in 2014.”
The Oscar winner took a break from his acting career in 2010 and attended UCLA.
Renée reappeared in 2014 and fans noticed she looked different, although she has denied in the past that she had had plastic surgery or experimented on her eyes.
“Not that it’s anyone’s business, but I didn’t decide to change my face and have surgery on my eyes,” she wrote in a Huff message opinion piece in 2016.
RENOVATED
“That was a really interesting period, because suddenly she had upper eyelids,” Westreich said.
“Renée’s eyes really looked different.
“The strange thing was that a year later her eyes were back to normal.
“She may have had a suturing technique done that folds the upper eyelid. It was not a permanent solution.”
After possibly experimenting with the Direct Sutre technique, the surgeon claimed that Renée may have continued injecting Botox and fillers.
During the 2020 awards season, she hit the red carpet for her role as Judy Garland with silky-smooth skin.
ALL ANGER
“In 2020, Renée may still have had lip fillers and possibly a skin resurfacing procedure,” Westreich added.
“Then she did some Botox and her lips, while it was all the rage to have super full lips.
“In 2023, it appeared that Renée had undergone two liquid facelifts.
“After that it would have been difficult to get it all out.”
BETTER THAN EVER
Renee said The Sunday newspaper that she wants to look better as she gets older.
“Who redefines 50 or 60 without saying, ‘Hey, look at me with my clothes off, and I still look almost as good as I did then?’” she said in 2022.
“I don’t want to be ‘almost what I was.’ I want to be a thousand times better!” she added.
Renée rose to fame at the age of 27 when she landed a role opposite Tom Cruise in Jerry Maguire.
On a personal level, Renée has had a string of celebrity romances, including with Jim Carey and Jack White.
Renée looks good for her 55th birthday.

She married American country star Kenneth Chesney in 2005, but split a few months later.
Renée started dating TV star Ant Anstead in 2021 after they worked together.
They got engaged in 2023.
“Renée looks good for 55,” Westreich added.
“We see that she takes good care of her skin.”
