For a long time democratic congress member Raul Grijalva died on Thursday morning after a fight with cancer.
His office announced that the 77-year-old died of complications with his cancer treatment.
Grijalva represented the third and seventh congress districts of Arizona during his long term of office in the house that started in 2003.

The statement continued to praise his work to improve the region he represented and bring new things to Southariazona.
It also noted that his work in the Natural Resources Committee he was following before Republicans recaptured the majority of the house in 2023.
“He was steadfast in his dedication to cause permanent change due to environmental policy – as he would say:” It's for babies, “the statement said.

But when his office announced early on Thursday evening that he died that morning, there seemed to be some confusion.
Just over an hour before his office revealed his death, the X account of the Congressman released an anti-Trump post.
“President Trump's latest reckless decision to dismiss thousands of employees at the Ministry of Education, endangers critical student aid programs, weakens the protection for the civil rights of students and undermines essential support for students with disabilities,” read the post Thursday afternoon.
“This step threatens the access of every child to a quality education nationally seriously,” it continued.
The X post was sent at 3.16 p.m. The explanation announced that he had passed, went out at X. at 5:15 PM ET.

In November 2024, Grijalva was re -elected by more than 63 percent of the votes to his chair of Arizona 7th District House, but announced the month before that he would not look for another term in 2026 while undering cancer treatment.
However, he was unable to complete his last term.
“The serving of Southariazona was the honor of the life of Raul M. Grijalva,” was the explanation of his office.
His staff thanked those who worked with Grijalva over the years, as well as his family.
