But the circumstances will usually be arranged and milder again will return halfway through next week with 15C (59F) on Wednesday and 16C (61F) on Thursday.
It comes after a very cold start of today in which Oxfordshire fell to -5c (23F) and a temperature of -4C (25F) in Bedfordshire, Dorset, Surrey, Somerset and Hampshire.
Parts of Wales, including Powys and Conwy, had similar lows, while London fell to -3C (27F) at Night on Northholt -Net as Gatwick Airport and Southampton.
Sunny Proverbs will follow later today in the south, but it will be more cloudy to the north with some places that see scattered showers that will be winters over high ground.
The showers will gradually spread the morning, although it will be drier and brighter in Noord -Ierland and West -Scotland.

Meteorologist from the Her Criswick office said today: 'It is again a cold and pretty icy start about parts of the south and southeast – there we saw the clearest skies at night.
'More cloud elsewhere, but it is still becoming a cold start and also a cold day ahead.
'Still many showers that feed themselves from the North Sea -coasts, the old can be heavy -and still bring some snow over hills for the Scottish Highlands, the pennines later over parts of the Welsh hills.
'Between those showers, although much clear and sunny spells. Light wind than what we had had earlier in the week, so it won't feel so cold, but the temperatures are still wide just below the average for the time of the year. High points from approximately 8c to 9c. '
Every rain will gradually be made tonight to leave a predominantly dry night, which again gets chilly under the brightest skies, along with some frost and fog plasters.
Mrs. Criswick said: 'In the course of the evening we will largely get away showers, largely limited to the North Sea kisses again and it will be a cold and icy night again.
'But this time we see a bit of a flip – the clearest skies in Scotland, Noord -Ireland, northern parts of England and Wales too – such a pretty widespread prince here.
“And we could still see some fragmentary prince about central and southern parts, but a little more cloud compared to what we saw last night.”
Tomorrow every early fog and miss will soon see clearly to leave a drier day compared to today with a mix of sunny spells and light showers and light wind.
Mrs. Criswick said it would be a 'cold start' with a few showers, but 'nowhere near as much as what we have seen earlier in the week'.
She continued: 'They will be largely isolated and many will actually see a beautiful day. Some sunshine in the morning but are cloudy when we continue the afternoon.
“Still the strange shower skills northern coasts of Scotland, perhaps a few blue skies over parts of East Anglia, Sussex and knows and temperatures reasonably comparable – perhaps a notch higher in some places, highlights of approximately 9c to 10c.”
It will then be more cloudy on Sunday and Monday with a few showers mixed with brighter intermezzos, than brighter but Tuesday Brulmer with many sunny spells.
“We have a high pressure that hangs around on Sunday, so still largely dry again,” said MS Criswick. “But we still stay in this cold pole of air, so it will still remain fairly cold with a chance of some fragmentary frost.”
