The parents of the American Joshua Riibe have beaten to the authorities in the Dominican Republic for 'holding' their son under 'irregular circumstances' while the hunt for missing spring breaker Sudiksha Konanki enters his second week.
The 22-year-old student was the last person who saw the University of Pittsburgh student Sudiksha in the Riu Republica Resort in Punta Cana in the early hours of 6 March.
He is not called a suspect or a person in the Dominican Republic and is legally free to fly back to the US whenever he wants.
But Riibe remains locked up in a private corner of the vast party complex – a virtual prisoner in paradise – while he continues to collaborate with police and search firms.
In a prolonged explanation shared with Dailymail.com on Friday, parents Tina and Albert 'Mike' Riibe expressed their 'deep sorrow and solidarity' with the family of Sudiksha and said that their son 'deeply deposited' was due to her disappearance.
They also revealed that they have now retained a legal adviser after he had learned that Joshua has been subject to 'extensive interrogation' and has been placed under the police since last week.
'We express our deep sorrow and solidarity with the family of Sudiksha Konanski during this painful time. Above all, we want to contribute to the search efforts and understand the fear and uncertainty they are going through and we share the hope that Sudiksha will be found as soon as possible, “the letter states.
“Joshua Riibe is deeply relieved about her disappearance and has worked completely together in the search and clarification of the facts from the very beginning.”

The security video images showed Riibe and Sudiksha together the night that they disappeared. When DailyMail.com found him in the hotel, he said: “I'm sorry, I can't say anything, not now”
They added: 'Despite his full willingness to work with, Josh was held under irregular circumstances and subjected to extensive interrogations without the presence of official translators or legal adviser until Wednesday 12 March.
“He stayed in his hotel room under police supervision and has been repeatedly taken to the police station since 6 March, where he was interviewed for long hours. This situation has seriously concerned in his family, so that we have retained a legal adviser to initiate legal actions that guarantee his safety and protection of his rights during this process. '
The parents described their son, a former high school thrust, as a 'kind', humorous and dedicated young man who is committed to his community.
They also expressed their gratitude for the support they have received and repeated their hope that Sudiksha will be found safely.
“We acknowledge that this is a complex and painful situation for all parties involved, and we trust that the investigation will be conducted with transparency and justice,” the parents added.
“Our only interest is that the right process is respected and that actions are being taken with the honesty that the situation requires.”
Riibe looked stressed and exhausted while he waited for more conversations with Dominican officers on Friday.
At one point he lay down on a couch close to the manager's office and slept like a dozen or not -formed police officers, military and various agencies, he and his father Albert were a close eye on the nickname Mike.
He cut a depressed figure while semi -dressed tourists passed the swing cocktails and beers and caught with laughing while looking forward to another big night of parties.
Earlier on Friday, the Venmo payments from Konanki came forward and revealed her last movements before she disappeared from a resort in the Dominican Republic.
Her transactions show that she has made two payments to a non -specific user on the app on March 5 – before she disappeared from the five -star RIU Republica Hotel in Punta Cana.
Venmo enables users to send money or request it from someone else who has the app with a few simple taps.
The first transaction was made at 2.54 pm to a nameless 'new user' and Konanki used a sailboatemoji to describe it.
The second was made at 3.38 pm and the description was Coco Bongo, a renowned nightclub in Punta Cana, as reported for the first time by the American sun.
It was up to Ananya Chilakamarri, one of the students on the trip. There is no suggestion of a misconduct from Chilakamarri.

Riibe, 22, a senior college at St. Cloud University in Minnesota, reportedly said the police that he and Sudiksha were going into the sea and were wiped out by a wave

Riibe was seen with law enforcement on the beach next to the Riu Republica Hotel in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic on Monday. He changed his story about what happened that night, the authorities said
Researchers continue to look for the student of the University of Pittsburgh from Virginia who disappeared during a visit to the Caribbean with five other people during the spring break from the lessons.
Riibe, who last saw with her, reportedly claimed that he saved her from drowning after she kissing in the water on the beach.
The former high school wrestling champion is not mentioned in the case or a person is important and is legally free to fly back to the US whenever he wants.
The weekly disappearance of Konanki has stunned civil servants and encouraged to encourage cries from her parents to broaden the hectic search for the pre-med student.
The full transcript of the police interview of Riibe has now emerged, with details about his last moments with Konanki and the chaotic aftermath of her mysterious disappearance.
But he refused to answer several critical questions, when the police asked if Konanki could swim, whether she was crying for help and what he trusted in friend after the tragic night.
Riibe, a senior at St. Cloud State University in Minnesota, claimed that he had just met the young woman when they decided to go to the beach, according to the transcript of his interview obtained by Noticias Sin.
He revealed that they had kissed in the ocean before they were almost wiped away by a wave. He said he saved her from drowning while he almost lost consciousness.

Konanki was during the spring break of the University of Pittsburgh
“We were at waist-deep water. We talked and kissed a little, “said Riibe. 'A big wave came and met both of us. And when the water returned, it wiped us to the sea. As soon as we were able to come up, we tried to ask for help. '
He explained that he previously worked in a swimming pool as a lifeguard and tried to bring them both to safety when he started to feel sick.
“I got tired. I realized that she also got tired of swimming. I have been a lifeguard. I grabbed her and pulled her out. I kept her under my arm and swam to get her out of the water, “said Riibe.
'It took me a long time to get her out. It was difficult. I was a lifeguard in a swimming pool, not at sea. I tried to let her breathe all the time. That didn't let me breathe all the time and I swallowed a lot of water. I could have losing consciousness several times. '
The 24-year-old said he could reach the coast, but claims that Sudiksha was still wading in the water when he saw her for the last time.
'When I finally reached the ground on the beach, I held her in front of me. She was not out of the water, she was knee-deep and walked out of the water under a corner, “he said.
'The last time I saw her, I asked if she was doing well. I didn't hear her answer because I started with all the water I had swallowed. After vomiting I looked around. I haven't seen anyone. I thought she had taken her things and left. '
He told the researchers that he fainted on the beach and heard nothing about Sudiksha until the next day when her friends text his friend.
“I felt really bad and tired. I lay down on a beach chair. I fell asleep because I couldn't go far, “said Riibe.
“Then I woke up because of the sun and because mosquitoes bite me. I went to my friend's room to get my phone and then went back to my room to sleep. '
Riibe's shinless family said that the former high school athlete would not harm a fly.
Josh and his father, who invaded this week to support his son, also had communication with Sudiksha's radical Indian immigrant parents Subbarayudu and Sreedevi, DailyMail.com earlier.
Riibe was seen at Hotel CCTV with his arm draped around Sudiksha while going to the beach of the resort around 4 o'clock last Thursday.
The cameras saw him walk back alone at 9.55 am. Sudiksha's friends reported that she was missing around 4 p.m.
The 'only' RIU Republica 'only adult' still tied on Thursday from police, soldiers and officials when the hunt for pre-medal student Sudiksha started a second week.
Drones, Divers, Sniffer Dogs and Hundreds of Officers were used in one of the largest searches in the history of the Dominican Republic, assisted by the FBI and Interpol, who has issued a 'yellow notification' – a global missing person alert – for the Chantilly, Virginia Resident.
Government officials revealed on Thursday that, according to Noticias Sin, the search will continue at full intensity up to and including at least Sunday.
The searches were usually demolished after ten days, but it can take up to six months in a reduced capacity, reported the Dominican outlet.
