A bride has been heavily criticised after sharing the sheer wedding dress she wore to church.

The woman, Pernille Rosenkilde, from Denmark caused quite a stir online after her unique wedding dress was branded ‘inappropriate’.

The influencer is down, Daily Mail reported earlierwas Pernille’s own design and consisted of a trendy feather vest over tights with a sheer maxi skirt to complete the look.

The blonde beauty told Vogue Scandinavia: ”I love wearing feathers and sheer fabrics, but I also wanted the dress to be elegant, stylish and a little bit sexy.”

But while the mother was happy with the end result, she was soon ridiculed online after a photo of the veil-like dress was posted on a popular Facebook page that discredits weddings.

Several people felt that the see-through clothing was not appropriate to wear to church, while others said it was simply not flattering.

One of them said, “This woman wore this to a church wedding, she showed up in underwear at a house of worship.”

Another commented: “I don’t care if it’s a pancake house, it’s an ugly, uncomfortable outfit with granny panties and a Muppet top.”

Meanwhile, others tried to unravel the thought and inspiration process behind the rather bizarre dress.

“Was the inspiration a big bird swimsuit, but make it a wedding,” one woman wondered.

Someone else joked: “If you have a wedding at 2pm and the parallel bars at 3pm.”

“Eh. You don’t become an influencer by being boring,” joked a fellow critic of the outfit.

‘There’s no way anyone would wear that to my wedding,’ people furious as woman shows off OTT mother of the bride outfit

Fortunately, the beautiful Dane, who also received a lot of support, did not seem too concerned about the crude comments that she herself admitted were “hateful”.

The stylish mom responded to the haters by saying that perhaps the trolls were still stuck in the past and that’s why they were having a hard time understanding the concept of the dress.

“People might think we’re still living in the Middle Ages, but hey, I designed my dream dress,” she criticized the bullies in a recent post on Instagram.

Do’s and Don’ts of Wedding Dress Codes

By Josie Griffiths, fabulous deputy editor and bride-to-be.

Josie Griffiths said: I will never forget the wedding I went to in October 2022 where one guest wore a white dress.

The dress didn’t fit properly, it reached the knee and didn’t look like a real wedding dress at all, but that didn’t stop everyone from judging her.

The rules for wedding guest outfits – which, unfortunately, are much stricter for women than for men – are supposed to be about “not overshadowing the bride,” which is actually quite difficult to do at someone else’s wedding.

But if you do it wrong as a guest, you’ll come across as a bit ridiculous, and to a lot of people who don’t know you personally.

It’s just not the right occasion for your new white dress, no matter how much online retailers like to dump them in the “wedding guest” category.

I would avoid anything too tight/short and avoid very formal dresses unless the dress code dictates it. You don’t want to be wearing a long sequined dress to a smart casual event.

Personally, I don’t like black dresses either, it’s not a funeral.

Otherwise, you should be pretty safe. Technically, wearing red means you’re in love with the groom, but that’s the kind of rule most people would laugh at these days.

I always check what colour the bridesmaids are wearing, just to be sure. After the Spanish wedding I saw them walking down the aisle in the exact same dress that I had in my Asos shopping bag a few weeks earlier.

If you are in doubt, it is best to ask the bride. But if you are already in doubt about your dress, that may be all the answer you need.

”I hand dyed the feathers in tea and made little bouquets out of them. I hand sewed them to the top of the dress.

“It took about a month of work, but it was worth it.”

She shared some beautiful photos from the wedding and continued: ”This day and this dress are an important memory that I am sure I will always look back on fondly.”

“And then the sun shone through the windows of the beautiful church and I really felt like something was blessing us (even with a sheer skirt on),” the mother chuckled.

“Maybe God likes a piece of bone.”
