Footy icon Chris Judd’s emotional tribute to Adam Selwood reveals a destructive insight into the struggles of his teammate before his death is only 41 years old

Offspring Legend Chris Judd has placed a sincere tribute to his former Eagles teammate Adam Selwood, revealing that the 41-year-old was nice for everyone ‘but not himself’.

Selwood died on Saturday tragicallyOnly a few months after the death of his twin brother Troy by suicide.

Judd, who was the skipper of West Coast when they won the Premiership in 2006, said that Selwood was the perfect teammate.

“Some people bounce when they run,” Judd posted on Instagam next to a photo of him who hugged Selwood on the field.

‘They glide with their feet that hardly touch the ground, the result of genetic gifts that have been given to them. That was not how Sellars ran.

“He was a great runner, but it was purely a consequence of grit, determination and work. His knees knocked somewhat, the knee plift almost no existence, every step was proof of his determination, which was without a pear.

‘While his personality outside the field combined a hard lead with kindness and compassion, a friendliness that he gave to everyone, but not himself.

Judd’s wife BEC shared the post alongside an emoji of a broken heart and also made his own tribute on Instagram.

Selwood died on Saturday at the age of 41 in West -Australia, only three months after his identical twins and colleague -Evid APL player Troy Selwood’s death.

Adam and Troy are brothers from Geelong champion Joel Selwood and former Eagles and Cats -Midfielder Scott Selwood.

West Coast had previously issued a moving tribute on social media with some highlights of Selwood.

West Coast players have channeled the emotion to get a stunning 16.12 (108) to 12.8 (80) victory over the saints – their first victory of the season.

“It has been one of the most emotional periods of my life that I have experienced, and I am sure that for many people in the football club it is just an incredibly challenging and sad time,” said West Coast -Coach Andrew McQualter about the impact that Selwood’s dead had on the club.

‘I want to express my respect to the Selwood family, and all our thoughts are with them in this sad time.

‘Adam had a huge influence with our football club and had many people who still work in our football club today.

“I just thought that the way our players represented our football club today was something that I am, and we are incredibly proud of challenging circumstances.”

McQualter said he had his players mourn in the way they felt the most comfortable.

‘There is no right way to do it. We were just open and honest and raw and we just let people have all the feelings they had, “said McQualter.

“When we arrived here today, we just asked people to play in the right spirit and bring their emotions into a great teammate like Adam, and we got the show we got.”

Selwood played 187 games for the Eagles, including the 2006 Premiership, before he retired in 2013 at the AFL.

After his retirement he joined the coaching department of West Coast, before he became the inaugural head of female football.

Selwood was central to the recruitment process that important ABLW players such as inaugural captain Emma Swanson and club champion Dana Hooker landed.

Everything, Selwood spent 18 years on the West Coast and he is a member of the club.
